DesTeDeBe - the Desalination Technology Development Benchmark - is the institute's own rating scale for how far a desalination technology has actually been developed. It answers the question every developer, investor and operator asks: is this ready, or is this a promise?

Why it exists
The range of technologies used in desalination keeps growing, and every new option increases the pressure to choose well. A reliable classification of a new technology, according to clear and comprehensive rules, gives orientation to every market player - from the developer through the investor to the operator. DME therefore developed a 10-point rating scale and applied it to the newest technologies in water processing.
How it differs from CDT-26
